Janet Jackden is a proud mother of three. Her youngest has sickle cell disease (SCD). Inspired by the other individuals living with SCD, families, and advocates she is surrounded with; Janet is excited to join this strong team.
She joins SCAGO’S PAAC with the hope of meaningfully contributing, effectively collaborating so the voices of our sickle cell peers, families, and caregivers are amplified to ensure equitable care for all affected by SCD across Ontario and the world; eliminating all barriers. As a mental health advocate, she is vastly interested in exploring mental health, co-dependence, and stigma as it relates to sickle cell peers.
Janet has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, holds a Paralegal license, and works as a Family Peer Supporter.
She is dedicated, passionate, compassionate, and above all has a deep love for humanity.
