The Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario (SCAGO) invites you to participate in the SCAGO Sickle Cell Summit 2026, a two-day, in-person gathering focused on improving outcomes and lived experiences for individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease (SCD) across Canada.
The Summit brings together:
Individuals living with sickle cell disease, sickle cell trait and their family members, caregivers and advocates
Physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
Community service agencies, nonprofit organizations and industry partners.
Health system leaders, researchers, and policy stakeholders
Partners committed to health equity and high-quality care
This Summit is open to everyone, and is designed to ensure that patients, families, clinicians, and system partners can learn together and co-design solutions that work in real life.

The SCAGO Sickle Cell Summit is a two-day, in-person gathering that brings together people living with sickle cell disease, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, health system leaders, and community partners from across Ontario and beyond.

Program Format
SCAGO’s Summit is designed to bring the sickle cell community, health care systems and the
larger community together into the same room to share evidence, elevate lived experience, and
translate advances in sickle cell care into meaningful, real-world improvements across the lifespan.
The program emphasizes the full sickle cell journey centering on access, equity, and accountability.

Plenary sessions (whole audience)
Opening remarks, keynotes, health system updates, and cross-sector panels focused on translating research and policy into practice

Oral abstract presentations
Research, quality improvement initiatives, and innovations in sickle cell care
03
Concurrent Sessions
Simultaneous sessions running in parallel tracks, designed to deliver targeted content for different audiences while maximizing learning and engagement.
