Cameisha Hemmings is a patient advocate who is dedicated to serving the sickle cell community. A member of the Meet the Parents at Sick Kids, she enjoys providing families of children with SCD with information on resources to support them. She also volunteered for the last 4 years at the Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s King and Queen show, raising awareness around SCD.
Cameisha participated in advocacy events at Queen’s Park, at annual Christmas parties, and the learning for life disease management sessions. An ardent volunteer of the SCAGO, Cameisha hopes to bring her lived experiences to impact the work of the PAAC
