Lance Archer

Board Member

Lance Archer completed teacher training with a specialization in Guidance Counselling. He has worked in different departments of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, Jamaica. Subsequent to his migration to Canada in 2014, he pursued studies in psychology and earned a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology in 2017. He received his second Master’s in Clinical Psychology in August 2021. Lance is currently a PhD in Clinical Psychology student with a research interest in Health Psychology and trauma recovery. He aspires to conduct research and develop clinical interventions targeted at improving the quality of life of people living with chronic illnesses and posttraumatic stress reactions.

Occupationally, Lance works as a mental health clinician providing psychological assessment as well as treatment to children, teens, and adults living with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and chronic pain. Lance is also engaged in research, exploring childhood outcomes related to healthcare quality and access, specific to children with long-term illnesses.

He enjoys the beach, movies, travelling, and research.
