The 2024 summit was an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. It was approved by the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine.


Participants were able to claim a maximum of 7.5 hours (credits were automatically calculated). The summit was delivered in person, featuring two days of presentations with a comprehensive program for healthcare providers, health system leaders, health policymakers, government officials, researchers, patients, caregivers, advocates, and industry partners.

The summit had two learning tracks:

The Clinician Track (for medical professionals) and the Community Track (for people affected by sickle cell disease, students, policymakers, etc.).”
